About our Club
The Ryde District Club, which was chartered on 29 September, 1987, is a friendly, relaxed Club. We have a really good mix of members, across a variety of backgrounds and age groups.
Meetings
The Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at the North Ryde Golf Club. See our Directions page for more details. Meetings commence at 6.30pm SHARP. If you're planning on visiting our Club, please arrive a little earlier so we have the opportunity to welcome you and introduce you to a few other members.
The Club has a meal break (of 30-40 minutes) in the middle of the meeting. Our venue has a Chinese restaurant with meals at very reasonable prices. If you're planning on eating during the break, please order before the meeting, making sure you let the restaurant know that you're attending the Toastmasters meeting.
Meetings generally finish around 9.30pm.
Cost
All visitors are welcome to attend their first two meetings at our Club completely free. If you do continue to come along to our meetings, we charge a small fee ($5) to help the Club cover venue hire costs. Membership costs are very reasonable and more information on this can be provided when you come along.
What you get in return:
-
The opportunity to overcome your fear of public speaking or simply polish up your presentation skills
-
A great social atmosphere and camaraderie with other members and guests
-
Ample speaking opportunities so you can put those new-found skills into practice
-
A comfortable learning environment, with experienced speakers, mentors and evaluators
District Website
Ryde District is part of Toastmasters' District 70. The District 70 website contains quite a lot of useful information and is also the place to go if you would like to order supplies (e.g. advanced speaking manuals). To go to their website, please click here.
